We try to cook out of this once a week. It is awesome to be able to duplicate at home the amazing dishes from The Beanery (sorry I just can't stop calling it that!). We also love reading about the memories associated with some of our favorites! Even if you've never visited Boise or The Beanery this one of the best cookbooks around!
I was so excited to get this cookbook, but for all of my favorite recipes you have to have a few separate recipes made to mix-in. Made the Hungarian goulash tonight... Definitely not the same as the restaurant, but good. Spent a couple of hours making gravy and demi glace to be able to make my one favorite recipes this week (wild rice meatloaf)... I hope it is worth the hours of prep.
I was glad to see a version of this cookbook, after the first edition (print) sold out. Unfortunately, after I paid for & downloaded my copy, I noticed there is no index at the back to find any of the recipes. So it appears you have to scroll through all 3,273 pages of recipes...not an easy task to navigate.
There is an index in the print version (viewable from 's site), so why not an index in the version?
I was excited to get this cook book. The Brick Oven Bistro was a great place to get good food.

Excellent collection of stories and the recipes from Brick Oven Bistro. Many options for comfort food. The Pot Roast is easy and excellent.
